“The Emergency Student Support Cash Payment" from Japanese Government

  To all International Students,

The government has decided to provide “the Emergency Student Support Cash Payment” for students in financial need, including international students, who have a difficulty in continuation of study in the institutions of higher education. The Cash Payment is designed specifically for the students who are financially independent from their guardians (ex. parents), but their income from part-time jobs has decreased significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
※Please note that the number of recipients is limited, and your academic performance will be considered in the selection process. 
※Please check if you meet the criteria No.1~No5 and No.7 in the “Form 2”attached, and apply only if you are eligible.

【Payment amount】
・100,000 yen, or 200,000 yen if your household is exempt from the resident tax 
【Documents required】
・A copy of each document: your passbook, the lease agreement for your apartment, and the records of your income from your part-time job (Payment before and after the COVID-19 incident), the certificate of resident tax exemption etc.
