【Important】 Entry restriction and Classes on May 27th (due to a bomb threat)
University of Yamanashi received a bomb threat implying that the university will be exploded at 12pm on May 27th.
Due to this, nobody will be allowed to enter following places all day on May 27th.
The places are:
Kofu campus
The Institute of Enology and Viticulture
Center for Crystal Science and Technology
Red Brick Museum
Clean Energy Research Center
Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center
Also, because of this entry restriction, all classes on May 27th (except Clinical practicum and nurse training) will be conducted online or cancelled.
Please take all classes in your house on May 27th. If you cannot use Wi-Fi at your home, please contact instructors.
Clinical practicum and nurse training will be conducted as usual.
Please follow teachers’ instructions.

Please make sure to sort out your garbage based on the instruction published by Kofu city and do not disturb your neighbors when you drink alcohol.

Recently, the infection of coronavirus in Japan has been spread. Due to this situation, The Japanese Government announced a state of emergency for 4 prefectures (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo), which started from April 25th. Also, today, it was found out that 6 students studying on Kofu campus were infected with coronavirus.
Because of this recent situation, all club activities and circle activities will be prohibited to conduct for the time being. Also, please follow the guidelines below/Preventing the spread of infection.
・Please follow basic customs for the prevention: wearing mask, wash your hands, disinfection and keeping physical distancing.
・Please avoid the situations with 3C: 1. Closed spaces with poor ventilation, 2. Crowded places with many people nearby and 3. Close-contact setting such as close-range conversations
・Please avoid making trips and visiting parties
・Please install COCOA apprication
【Very Important】 Classes on Aril 30th, May 6th and May 7th
As you may have seen on the university’s website, the classes in this semester have been conducted, taking counter measures against the corona virus. However, today, it was found out that 6 students studying on Kofu campus were infected with coronavirus.
Due to this, every class on Aril 30th, May 6th and May 7th will be conducted online, not in person. Also, some lessons on those days will be cancelled. The instructors responsible for those classes will announce you how the lessons will be provided, and please carefully follow their instructions.
We are going to separately announce you how the lessons will be provided after May 10th.
Precautions for prevention of Covid-19 infection
Dear All International Students,
The number of people who are infected including coronavirus variant is widely reported and it is warned that Japan has entered a “fourth wave” of infections. Even in Yamanashi, infection cases are reported everyday as well.
We ask every person to keep on taking the preventive measures such as below:
- Keep physical distance, Wear face masks, Wash your hands, Disinfect your surroundings, and ventilation, in daily life.
2. Avoid three Cs: Closed, Crowded, and Close, and avoid using facilities that do not have basic infection prevention measures.
3. Refrain from traveling to and from where the infection is prevailing. Also, refrain from activities with a high risk of infection, such as having a dinner with a large number of people or participating in a place where an unspecified number of people gather.

Online Language and Culture Programs
The “Language and Culture Program” that is held during spring break every year to develop English proficiency and experience the foreign cultures in overseas cannot be held this year due to the pandemic of COVID-19, we carry out an online program with three universities and those of two programs have started in February.
Through this online program, students can learn English intensively with local instructors and students and have cultural exchange experiences. 21 students are participating in these three programs.
Three programs are:
・University of Leicester (UK): 4 weeks, February 8th (Mon) ~ February 26th (Fri)
・Northern Iowa University (U.S.A): 6weeks, February 8th (Mon) ~ March 17th (Wed)
・University of British Columbia (Canada): 4 weeks, February 22th (Mon) ~ March 18th (Thu)

Dear International students,
As the number of people tested positive has been increasing in the nearby prefectures these days, the State of Emergency has been declared in the 11 prefectures.
In order to protect yourself, your loved ones, your community and society as a whole from the spread of COVID-19, install and utilize COCOA properly and effectively.
Please keep the following points in mind:
・ Carry your smartphone, COCOA is in it, with you all the time whenever you go.
・ Set Bluetooth and COCOA functions On.
・ If you have tested positive for COVID-19, register your POSITIVE status anonymously via COCOA. It can prevent the virus from spreading further.
