From Health Care Center
The health care center issued the alerts on new infectious disease caused by a coronavirus for 5 times since 29 January 2020. https://health.yamanashi.ac.jp/news
Those alerts were posted on the premise that the disease was not spread in Japan yet. However, the present situation is described as “the beginning of the outbreak in Japan” in the Government’s expert meeting on 16 February.

On 18 February, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology issued 2 notices, namely “The response toward outbreak among students” and “Actions against the new infectious disease caused by a coronavirus”. The main points are as follows.
・ To keep basic infectious disease protection such as washing hands and wearing a mask.
・To take a rest if you have symptoms like fever.
・ If you are diagnosed as the new infectious disease caused by a coronavirus (hereafter “the infectious disease”) you are not allowed to attend classes.
・Even if you stay in the house due to a common cold, it might be subjected to the suspension of attendance.
The symptoms for suspension of attendance
・Symptoms of a common cold or continuous fever more than 37.5 C for more than 4 days
・Strong lassitude and breathing with difficulty
Once again, we announce that the basic preventive measure against the infectious disease is same to influenza and the common cold. You should wash your hands, put a mask on your face and air ventilation. Disinfection with alcohol is effective too.

Study-in-Japan Fair in Jakarta
On Sunday 24th November 2019, ”Study in Japan Fair” was held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
About 80 organizations of Japanese universities and vocational schools joined the fair and about 3,800 students visited. Over 150 students who are interested in coming to Japan to study visited our consultation booth and we promoted our university, Yamanashi Prefecture and Kofu City.
On Monday 25th November, we visited Padjadjaran University, which concluded MOU with Faculty of Engineering of University of Yamanashi in July 2019, and had a good discussion toward academic collaboration and student exchange.
There are 4 students from Indonesia who study and research in University of Yamanashi as of November 2019.
The participation in this Fair provided us a great opportunity to promote our university and find excellent students in Indonesia.
