Alert for ASF (African swine fever) invasion
Dear international students,
On July 1, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has enacted the amendatory law (Law No. 16 of Reiwa 2) of the Act on Domestic Animal Infectious Diseases Control. The law strengthened the penalties for violations of import/export quarantine regulations. In order to prevent ASF (African swine fever) from entering Japan, follow the measures below:
1.Bringing pork, beef, chicken, eggs, etc. (including processed products such as sausage and jerky; and meat-containing foods such as meat buns, dumplings, and others) to Japan from overseas is prohibited by law. Neither the quantity or form of transport (carry-on, luggage or mail) matters.
2.To violate the law, you may be subject to penalties such as 3 years or less imprisonment or a fine of 3 million yen or less (50 million yen or less for a corporation).
3.Not only yourself but also your family members and friends coming to Japan should avoid bring in any food containing meat, eggs and others. Also, you are responsible that they should not send those items to Japan by post.

1st Semester Class Schedule and guidelines as below:
Guideline for 2020 Classes and Courses:
- The classes will start on May 7.
- Some classes will be conducted remotely (excluding lab activities, practical training and physical activities). Check YINS-CNS frequently or your teaching personnel will make a contact with you.
- DO NOT come to the University campus if you feel sick. The absence caused by COVID-19 is treated as having attended.
- Study hard to achieve the goal mentioned on the syllabus. Do your assignment seriously. Any act of dishonesty will be punished.
- Effective after the registration for the course, April 20, some e-classes may start as a trial session. Check CNS frequently for the message from University on this.
- For the students who would like to take e-classes on campus: You can use wi-fi services or 24 hour-computer room. To take the e-classes, you can use the classrooms appointed initially for the classes. Do not forget to keep enough physical distance from other students (the seats around you should be empty) and remain the seat you are assigned. Also, you should keep the air ventilation properly.
